When will i find a nice girl?

I'm 20 and haven't had any luck so far bumping into a "real" girl yet. Not really trying to make anything happen but just going with the flow with conversations I have with some girls I randomly meet at parties. But other than that I have no clue about how to bring a girl under my wing..so how would you know when a girl is right for you and its time to get more personal ?
