Do you and your cat[s] have some sort of other-worldly understanding of eachother?

I tell my mom every now and then that my 6 year old kitty wants a certain type of wet food. My mom asks, "how do you know" and I really want to reply "she told me" but that would sound abnormal, so I just go "I can tell". My kitty always meows to get my attention and leads me to her bowl when she's hungry. When her bowl of food and water is full, and she's still leading me to it, it's because she wants it mixed with fancy feast. I even know her favorite flavors. She looks at me pathetically when I give her anything with shrimp. She doesnt like turkey too often. She loves tuna, but dark meat. I put ribbons and handmade collars on her, and she loves it. I can tell. She's a lot more calm when she's wearing them. She even likes her reflection, but shes not too confident... Any say in this?
