Can't remember the artist or lyrics, just the music video?

Okay, this has been bugging me for a while. I've been trying to find a song but I cannot remeber the artist or any of the lyrics. The only thing I remember is the music video. In the music video the guy, who is singing, is having trouble with his girlfriend and he shows up at her work with a little black dog. I know this song came out over 5 or more years ago. Ugh, I know this is stupid but it's bothering me so much! Oh, and the singer kind of looks like Michael Copon in a way lol. Any clues would be helpful, thanks in advanced!
